The Story of "Assembly of the Saints - Student Ministries"
The Journey of "Assembly of the Saints - Student Ministries" began with a shared vision between my Pastor, Gesner Civil, and myself, Pastor Julio Charles, and with discipleship and encouragement from Pastor Jeremy of OFHMI. We felt a deep burden for the spiritual growth of students and recognized the unique challenges they face in today’s world. It was clear to us that students needed more than just a place to worship on Sundays; they needed a community where they could belong, grow, and be equipped for the future.
It all started with prayer. We sought God’s guidance on how to reach and impact the younger generation. We believed that if we could create a space where students could come together, ask tough questions, and experience genuine fellowship, we could help them build a solid foundation in their faith. That’s how the vision for "Assembly of the Saints Student Ministries was born. We chose this name because it reflects our mission to gather students as a unified body of believers in Christ, focusing on spiritual growth and fellowship.
We began with a small group, but the ministry grew step by step. Students were drawn to the sense of community and the authentic relationships we fostered. They come from different backgrounds, but they find common ground in their desire to grow closer to God. Our ministry isn't just about preaching or teaching; it is about living out the gospel together. Through Bible studies, worship nights, prayer meetings, and service projects, we aim to meet the spiritual and practical needs of all our students whether in our school or in our church.
What makes our ministry unique is our commitment to empowering students.
We do not want them to just be passive participants.
We teach them that they are not the church of tomorrow,
but that they are the church of today!!!
We want them to take ownership of their faith. We encourage them to discover their gifts and use them to serve others; whether through leading worship, organizing events, or participating in outreach initiatives, we provide opportunities for students to step up and lead.
Over time, the impact of the ministry has grown beyond just the students. Families are getting involved, and the wider community are noticing the difference our students are making.
The core values of faith, fellowship, service, and discipleship our central to our mission. Today, "Assembly of the Saints Student Ministries" is a thriving community where students can find support, grow in their relationship with God, and be equipped to make a lasting impact in the world. We have a Christian School with classes from kindergarten through high school. Children at our school get more than just a standard education, they learn biblical principles and are taught God’s Word.
Through it all, Pastor Gesner and I have seen God’s hand at work in ways we could never have imagined. What started as a simple vision has become a vibrant ministry that continues to touch lives and bring students and families closer to Christ. We are grateful for every step of this journey and look forward to what God has in store for the future of this ministry.
