HaitiHaiti is a wonderful country, located in the Caribbean, on an island shared with the Dominican Republic. It is a country built on community and spirituality.
The people of Haiti are its most beautiful treasure. They love their country, their heritage, and their culture. They are a very resilient people. The Haitian people have had to forbear more than their share of hardships from natural disasters, political upheaval, and extreme poverty. |
Haiti came into international focus when a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit on Jan 12, in 2010, leaving over 200,000 dead and over 100,000 people homeless. Over 3 million people were affected in the aftermath of this devastating disaster.
Struggles to rebuild and to recover have been compounded by the lack of infrastructure and severe conditions of poverty. It is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Despite the challenging conditions and obstacles before them, the Haitian people remain hopeful, and confident through faith, that better days lie ahead.

OFHM's Story
In the aftermath of the Earthquake of 2010, Our Father’s House Mission, Haiti was birthed through relationships formed between U.S. missionaries and Haitian Brothers and Sisters in Christ who linked arms together in the disaster relief efforts in Carrefour, Haiti; a town located at the epicenter of the earthquake.
What began as a morning bible study on a street corner and disaster relief projects in Carrefour, Haiti, has become a discipleship house and mission base ministering to the surrounding community.
Out of the rubble of that devastating event rose a team, united in heart and passion for the Haitian people and their plight. A team committed to rebuilding lives empowered by the love of Jesus Christ and armed with the life changing message of the cross.
Through this partnership of like-minded missionaries and local Haitians, Our Father’s House Mission, Haiti was established as a Haitian Non-profit Organization committed to edifying and equipping Haitian people to minister to their community in many ways, partnering with mission teams from America and other strategic organizations in Haiti.
Our Fathers House Mission, also known as OFHM, houses and trains a discipleship team that lives at the OFHM home base in Carrefour. At the Base, the team shares the gospel of Jesus Christ through ongoing ministry and community events. They minister to children through weekly Kid’s Clubs - in which the Bible and English are taught, along with a lot of fun and games.
OFHM also teaches free English classes, and hosts soccer and family friendly movie viewing events for the community.
